The Project

Hunters Hill Public School is a government school in north-west Sydney. The school approached me about redesigning their old templated website in favour of one that reflected the school's branding and atmosphere. They wanted a professional-looking website that was flexible, easy-to-use, and that they could update themself.

The design I created tries to encapsulate the leafy sandstone feel of the school, while providing space for the school to upload newsletters, notes, news, and galleries of their recent events. Built in Wordpress, the site is alive with updates and changes as the school moves through the year.

Highlights

• Gallery: I modified a Wordpress gallery plugin to create a gallery system on the website that was straight forward, clean and allowed new albums to be uploaded quickly. The gallery uses lightbox effects and simple styling to showcase the school in a fun and logical way.
• Latest News: I set up the Wordpress blog functions to become a way for the school to broadcast their latest news and events. The most recent posts are automatically shown on the homepage, with more information available through links. The latest news page has become a great way for the school to stay engaged with it's community.
